Safety at Jasper is our biggest concern. This is where the guards will be asking for our help.

A few quick notes:

There are no floatation devices allowed in the pools. This is to prevent a life guards view of the entire pool from being obstructed, to prevent entrapment of swimmers under devices and also to prevent injury to the user. Swimmers that can not pass the swim test in front of a life guard are not allowed to go beyond the shallow end. Non-swimmers will need to be accompanied by an adult at all times.

The rules for the wall along the diving well will be strictly enforced this year. No back dives, no flips, no horseplay, no swimming into diving area, and please be careful that you are looking before you jump in!! This area is consistently an area of concern for the guards. If it continues to be a problem area we may need to restrict the number of children allowed on the wall at a time. This is only to prevent injury and keep your children safe.

Lastly, adult swim will no longer allow for children to be in the water with an adult. We have had many complaints and have had a hard time enforcing the “one adult to one child” rule. This summer when adult swim is called it will be for those members who are 18 or over only.

Thank you!

I can’t believe it is that time again! One more week and Jasper will be open for business! The staff has been hired, the club is looking beautiful and now all we need is for the fun to begin.

We will be open Saturday May 29 at 12:00. For now the club is open Saturday and Sunday, 12:00 until 8:00. Of course we are open Memorial Day! Just as an FYI, the snack bar does not open until June 22. Here is a link for good picnic ideas if anyone is interested! http://www.the-picnic-site.com/ If anyone has any other good links or ideas, please post!

I hope everyone gets a chance to come on over and check out the pool improvements, see old friends who have been hibernating for the Winter, and in general have a good time! I can’t wait!

A great job at our second meet! Results are posted in cottage. Please look, but leave for others to see. Parents and Swimmers: If you noticed we had a number of officials on deck watching the swimmers. Jasper Valley coaches, board, and staff would like to thank these individuals for stepping up, and being involved. This is an area the club has lacked in recent years. ”Officials” are to check that swimmers are preforming correct turns, starts, and strokes that the coaches are teaching. There is NOTHING wrong with being disqualified! Kids need to learn the correct way, and if they are never “DQ’d”, they will not learn! If your child is disqualified and they do not know why, please talk to one of the coaches, as it is important for them not to do it next time!
