Safety at Jasper is our biggest concern. This is where the guards will be asking for our help.
A few quick notes:
There are no floatation devices allowed in the pools. This is to prevent a life guards view of the entire pool from being obstructed, to prevent entrapment of swimmers under devices and also to prevent injury to the user. Swimmers that can not pass the swim test in front of a life guard are not allowed to go beyond the shallow end. Non-swimmers will need to be accompanied by an adult at all times.
The rules for the wall along the diving well will be strictly enforced this year. No back dives, no flips, no horseplay, no swimming into diving area, and please be careful that you are looking before you jump in!! This area is consistently an area of concern for the guards. If it continues to be a problem area we may need to restrict the number of children allowed on the wall at a time. This is only to prevent injury and keep your children safe.
Lastly, adult swim will no longer allow for children to be in the water with an adult. We have had many complaints and have had a hard time enforcing the “one adult to one child” rule. This summer when adult swim is called it will be for those members who are 18 or over only.
Thank you!
